Every morning I see several people carrying leashed dogs around. I have never been interested in adopting any animal and/or birdie as pet. Reasons? Additional responsibilities plus leashing thing. I don't like to bind anyone or anything. So me having a pet and strolling with it was never bound to happen. But it still happened. Couple of days back, when I moved out of nandina campus a dog escorted me. It synchronized its walking with me. Then as I reached the milk man person, it took a different lane. It joined me back on my way back home. So you see, me gets a pet for 10 mins.

It's raining since morning here. I love rain. Just because I have a meeting coming up this Monday, haven't taken chance with getting drenched in rain.

What's so good about rains? Summers are hot. Air's full of dust. Leaves, plants are all covered up with dust. And then there comes rain. Washing the leaves, cleaning the air. Plants are all green again as if they are full of life again. So is summer evil?

Not at all. Summers are good too. These are the times when many species come out of hibernation. Things which were stopped during winter, start moving back again. Rains won't be there if there be no summer. No evaporation, no clouds. Many living things wait for summer.

What about winter? Honestly speaking, it's my favorite season. Winters let you stop and relax. They help plantation cycle also to cleanse in terms of shedding off old leaves, preparing them for better growth when summer comes in.

All my life, I have known and witnessed only one miracle called Nature. Think of it. Life by itself is nothing less than miracle. Life of not just you and me but of every living being. Starting from being born till death, it's a continuous cycle. And then you see cycle/recycling thing so much in every aspect of nature. Seasons, weather, habitat, ecosystem. And everything is interwoven. There is so much to nature, so much learn from. Nature is life. The only real friend we have. Yet we keep hurting it. Every time we are destroying nature, we are destroying life. Not just of ours but of every living being. Be it plants, be it animal.

Nature was at its creative best when creating human species. Wonder if it would be feeling cheated at times. Misplaced intelligence, huh?

Actually taking up this task only for attaining those side effects. The task would be to write at least one blog a day for one year, even if this means to write back dated entries to accommodate net non-availabilities at times. Bitter pill for you to get side effects at my end :P

Desired side effect is to have my old entries tagged on LJ. Tags were introduced late on LJ. Searching through my older blogs becomes quite difficult whenever I need to refer earlier writings. So the idea would be revisit those older entries and add/edit tags for those.

One entry a day with each entry having links to earlier entries (2004 till 2008) for same date n month.

DG: "Don't you think life averages out quite well over time?"
Me: "Yeah, it does."

When you are denied what rightly belongs to you, try maintain your peace over it. I know it hurts but there's absolutely nothing in this world which is worth losing peace of your mind.

This is what I was trying to explain to myself as I was walking back home. After thinking over it for some time I started laughing over the entire matter. Reason? I instigated myself over settlement of some meagre 8K bucks whereas more than 20K bucks are already due in other different matters for which I haven't even put up claims. And if I add the supposed increment to be fetched post appraisal, the arrears count easily exceeds 40K (in all 60+ K). Am yet to submit my appraisal sheet. And if I never lost peace of my mind over these things, I wonder why I behaved so erratic over settlement of 8K bucks. I guess it was the tone of the person on the other end. But then I have known him from 9 years. I know him in and out. There was absolutely no reasons for me to believe that today he would be a different person from other (earlier) times. Foolish me.

Time to buy time for self.

Me has been lucky to get [info]peeyush right away which I wasn't getting on blogspot or other blogging sites of those times (year 2003, that is). May be this has been the reason of my adoption of LJ over other blog sites. Otherwise, I wonder, what username would have I selected if Peeyush wasn't available. The words that I find fascinating - {winners, phoenix, quicksilver, petrichor, vagabond}. If you look at the set, each of those are one word username. I would have never imagined selecting a multiword username. Of course, there are few words I like to use quite often {Never say die, live wire, two things, if i am not wrong}. So you see that if I were to create a multiword username, what a disaster it would had been. Thank god, never had to do such thing.

Me was checking profile of my LJ friends to get new friends from LJ. Found [info]exceptindreams from [info]ozteabe's page. Pretty good collections of poem. But more than those poems, I found the username quite fascinating. Decided to list out some of the usernames from my LJ friend's list that I have found fascinating. They would be

BTW, LiveJournal itself is a pretty cool name. The best, I suppose. For that matter, blogspot sounds awful.

Today was one of those days when I become impossible to deal with. Adamant and refuting. And that too with a person who matters to me. He has been a mentor to me and a real good friend. Am getting worked up fast and quick. Difference in perception seems to be causing all this nonsense. Seems trivial stuff to him, seems danger thing to me and somewhere I am less than ready to accept the ways of thing. I have sounded my irritation to him on more than one occasion in last one month. Yet he never reacted back badly. And today too, he concluded the teleconference asking if I am smiling or not. Telling that it's important for me to be smiling.

All the day today, I have been thinking about my behavior, my concerns and my reasons. I don't want harm coming to anyone and end up in hypercritical and skeptical mode. Few times I have failed to protect people important to me. Not at all a pleasant sight. It takes lots of time and energy to recover from something like that.

Some thing is going wrong with self. Need to get off this thing. Want my earlier self back.

Must be a 7 year old conversation. It happened when sharing evening tea with Satish. As usual, i don't remember most of it but just two lines that made some impression on me.

Me: Why do we need leader? I mean, if the leader makes mistake then team suffers because of him/her.
Satish: Without a leader, there will be no direction. The team will keep moving in circles reaching no destination.

Went to check out some flat for sale thingy yesterday in a building couple of yards away. It was 3/4th capacity of what we have in our quarters and cost exceeded INR 1.x Crore (more than two hundred thousand US$). After returning home, was laughing over it. Some couple of years back, I was asking my granny how much would it cost to have a good size haveli in Pilani and she had said something around INR five hundred thousands. I know, the two places are not at all comparable. Mumbai is land of opportunities, whereas Pilani is not. So people can go nuts over costing in Mumbai whereas people can go nuts about getting opportunities in Pilani. But then that's what the cool minds can do. Where other people go about waiting for opportunities, a few go ahead and create opportunities out of nothing. I think that's what Birlas did. BITS, even if it seems an academic contribution to the society, has helped few houses to generate revenues in different ways.

Anyways, am in no mood to play Birlas/Tatas for now. My lazy brain instead of working so hard, inspires me to work out teleporting. Because then I can have good king size goody for daily residence thingy and continue working in my dream place, NCST that is.

Installed smplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ or http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/) today morning. Selected the 300+ recorded songs, right clicked, selected the option "enqueue in smplayer". SMPlayer gave a warning - "Choosing to 'enqueue in smplayer' 328 items at once may take a long time and cause your computer to respond slowly.

Do you want to continue?". Me thinks that smplayer is being modest and simply saying that queuing process may take a little longer than expected. So me clicks the "okay" button. And...

Smplayer window 1 is playing 'garbage-can't cry', smplayer window 2 starts playing 'frontload'... Withing 5 seconds, there are 31 windows of smplayer popping up. So me selects the smplayer subgroup and chose to close the group. After 15 such attempts, I am finally able to shutdown all instances of smplayer. Yeah, a funny and slightly torturing learning experience :)

But then it wasn't that bad either. Besides, me have always enjoyed playing with sound recorder, audio players etc. Record sound from machine or mic. Play it reverse, play it twice the speed, play it half the speed, mix two songs, insert weird sound effects, etc. Simple things but quite entertaining. What had started with Windows sound recorder, is now currently stationed at audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). I had recorded some 500+ songs earlier using windows sound recorder (year 2003-2006) which, due to its limitation of being able to record for not more than 60 seconds at one go, was quite tiring experience. Then came in audacity. Audacity was way too coooool compared to windows sound recorder. Not comparable. Since then have recorded 300+ songs using audacity. My sources? movies, launchcast, deezer, desiradio, any online radio thingy :D

It was after having audacity that I finally could make something like this (yeah, it's its second appearance in my blog) -

Not great but immensely satisfying.
